Hedgehogs
Look at some of the fun activities we have got outside for this half term!
We had a lovely time celebrating Red Nose Day. Lots of children wore red clothes and we enjoyed making red superhero masks and colouring red nose pictures.
This week on Muddy Monday we enjoyed exploring the forest looking for animal habitats. We found bird boxes, bat boxes and lots of insects hiding underneath damp logs.
We had a super time for World Book Day!
We have had a fantastic time exploring the forest for Muddy Monday. We found lots of interesting things to take back to our classroom.
In Hedgehogs we have been learning about Advent and thinking about how people prepare for Christmas. We have also been learning the Nativity story and enjoying the book ‘Twinkly Twinkly Nativity’.
In phonics we have been exploring the sounds we can make with different musical instruments. We have learnt about loud and quiet sounds as well as trying to guess the instrument based on its sound.
We enjoyed Maths Book Day in Hedgehogs with lots of number and pattern activities.
As part of our topic ‘Supersonic Stories’, we are exploring the story of Stickman by Julia Donaldson. Our word of the week is ‘journey’ as we think about his journey to get back home,.
This week we are learning about Diwali. We are exploring making Rangoli patterns with different materials as well as making diwa lamps from playdough.
We have had a super start to our new term. We had lots of fun exploring all the new areas of our classroom

Emma came from Asda and we tasted some different fruits. We tried blueberries , strawberries, figs, pomegranate and mango.

We love meeting the animals that White Post farm brought in to show us. They let us all touch and stroke them. It was amazing.

We celebrated the coronation of King Charles. We wore red, white and blue and made crowns using collage. We decorated biscuits with icing and sprinkles. We had party food picnic inside.

Coach Aiden came in from Kixx and did some games with us in the afternoon. We had lots of fun!

We brought in props from our favourite books for World Book day!

Mrs Smith brought in some of her fossils to show us. We could hold them and pass them round. Do you know what they are?
We had an ammonite, fossil fish, mosasaur skull and dinosaur poo amongst other things.

The morning children had a visit from Penny from Caterpillar Music. We sang and moved to lots of pirate songs.

We had great tasting foods for Chinese New Year!
The afternoon children loved prawn crackers best.
The morning children thought the noodles were sticky like glue.
The other morning group enjoyed prawn crackers but didn’t like the sauces.
